[geist]Geist

"Visual kei and Japanese rock have swept America, and there is hardly better proof of its influence than [geist]: an American group devoted to the sound, look, and feel of visual style Japanese rock."

In 2007, [geist] acquired vocalist Kane, who moved back to Baltimore from Georgia to join the band. They played an impromptu "guerilla" show at Baltimore's Otakon, the largest Japanese culture convention on the East Coast, and the subsequent release of their debut single, "nevaeHell," triggered nearly 1,300 plays in just over a two-week period.

The following year, [geist]'s lineup gelled when Kazuya's longtime friend, Sai, joined on drums. [geist] performed alongside jpop darlings Mitsumassyu, played again at Otakon, and released their blistering yet lyrical second single, "The Brilliant Black." September saw the release of their first EP, Itsuwari. And in October, they opened for the acclaimed Zazen Boys in Baltimore. Soon after, [geist] expanded to include Kuni (ex-Ajipulse) on guitar.

[geist] then made their NY debut by playing at the CD release show of their good friends, Gelatine. They returned to New York twice, opened for Sony artist Kanon Wakeshima on Otakon's main stage, and went on a 5-date tour of the East Coast – all while working on their full-length debut, Grotesque. Grotesque, featuring 13 tracks of passionate, brutal music, was released in October 2009.

This band was started by drummer Joey Knight with his fast skilled double bass skills and epic rolls. His younger brother Chris followed him, with an amazing reputation on the guitar it was no contest. Kid Coffin was the next to join, one of the best screamers out there and some wicked guitar skills to follow, not to mention the darkened background made him the number one contender for the singing position. Joe Cramer then join us with amazing riffs and fast action playing,it was not an option to have him in. We recently just discoverd a bassist, finaly someone as twisted as we are! he fits right in and picks up pretty fast! We are A New Disorder!

Their style of music are Metal / Grindcore Metal / Death Metal

Defenders of the King (DotK)

DotK stemmed as a small Christian metal band project from Baltimore, MD, founded by vocalist Black Raven and guitarist Draccnus Shock together with the help of a couple of refund checks from school, they began recording songs in Draccnus' basement and bedroom. Alterations to the goal of the band were made, whereas not to scare away many potential fans and prospective members, to its new vision of the creation of the genre "gold metal" (a unique blend of black metal sound with a very heavy positive, uplifting, or anti-negative flow and content). Raven felt that the changes made for the band were sufficient in order to find a sense of style as well to where he felt they both would feel comfortable. Black Raven, a fellow member of the Goth community wanted to reach out to all in the Goth community as well as spread the message of injustice done by the government, while Draccnus is geared toward producing heavy and dark music suitable for even rigid Christian standards, and professes power in overcoming tough situations and calling on a higher power for help. The band looks to bring a variety of symphonic, black metal, death metal and hardcore sound to the music scene.
